Beginners Beekeeping Training 2026

Learn how to manage bees and hives practically and get access to our experts in a variety of different settings.

Our training will take place over three Saturdays:

Saturday 11th April 2026 

Saturday 18th April 2026

Saturday 25th April 2026.

We also want to invite you to a 'meet and greet' session on Wednesday, March 4th 2026, at Insole Court, Llandaff, Cardiff, from 7 pm. This will be a chance to meet training staff and committee members, receive your bag of bee goodies, learn about beekeeping equipment, and find out more about the course and what you will be learning.

The training itself consists of 3 half-day sessions, which will take place in the afternoon, usually between 12 noon and 4 pm, but we will confirm this closer to the date. Our practical course will guide you through how to inspect and care for your bees, what equipment to buy and much more.

The training takes place at our three association apiaries: Forest Farm in Whitchurch, Nature's Little Helpers in Lisvane, and Fonmon Castle in the Vale of Glamorgan.

Our course is £95, which includes your association membership (£25 per year for up to 3 hives starting in January) for 2026, plus you will receive a 'bee bag' including magazines and a beekeeping manual. 

This popular course is always sold out.
